Position Overview:
Freedom Classical Academy is a K-8 public charter school operating in NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV. We educate approximately 1050 students each year and have been in operation since 2017. Freedom Classical Academy is a 4 DAY WEEK classical school focusing on STEM instruction, leadership, and values. We care deeply about both our students and our staff and work hard to provide a safe and enjoyable school environment for everyone on campus.
We are looking for a School Director who serves as the instructional and operational leader of the school and is responsible for advancing the school’s mission, vision, academic achievement, and organizational excellence. The Director oversees all aspects of school leadership, including curriculum and instruction, staff supervision, student culture, operations, compliance, family engagement, budgeting, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership:
- Lead the implementation of rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum and instructional practices.
- Use student achievement data to drive continuous academic improvement.
- Observe, coach, and evaluate teachers and instructional staff regularly.
- Foster a culture of high expectations, equity, and academic excellence.
- Oversee intervention programs and support services for diverse learners.
School Culture & Student Support:
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive school environment.
- Implement restorative practices and effective student discipline systems.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and community stakeholders.
- Support social-emotional learning and student wellness initiatives.
Staff Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, hire, supervise, and retain high-quality staff.
- Facilitate professional development aligned to school goals.
- Build a collaborative and accountable professional culture.
- Conduct staff evaluations and performance management processes.
Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with charter requirements, state and federal regulations, and board policies.
- Oversee school operations including scheduling, enrollment, attendance, transportation, and facilities.
- Collaborate with business and operations personnel on budgeting and resource allocation.
- Prepare reports and presentations for the Board of Directors and authorizing agencies.
Family & Community Engagement:
- Serve as the primary ambassador for the school.
- Foster strong family partnerships and community involvement.
- Lead outreach, enrollment, and retention efforts.
- Communicate effectively and transparently with stakeholders.
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement strategic goals aligned with the school’s mission.
- Monitor organizational performance and school improvement initiatives.
- Support long-term sustainability and growth of the school.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field required.
- Valid administrative certification/licensure preferred or required based on state regulations.
- Minimum 3–5 years of successful teaching experience.
- Minimum 3 years of school leadership or administrative experience preferred.
- Experience in a charter school environment strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success improving student achievement and school culture.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of charter school governance, compliance, and accountability systems.
